Water Network Distribution - Made with PosterMyWall

This CASI Construction Academy workshop will present the operation and maintenance of the various components of the WDS as well as the management of it and help participants to come to an understanding which will enable them design such systems properly. Participants will be able to distinguish between different network configurations and supplying schemes, recognize various consumption categories and their growth patterns, including water leakage, define the relation between the main hydraulic parameters, namely the demands, pressures, velocities and hydraulic gradients, demonstrate understanding of the steady-state hydraulics by being able to select appropriate pipe diameters, indicate optimum location of reservoirs and identify pumps capable to supply the demand, clear any misconception regarding hydraulic transients (water hammer) and recognize the importance of including hydraulic transient analysis in the design, operation and maintenance of WDS.

Benefits of attending

• Gain a better understanding of water distribution systems

• Get insights into how to better maintain and operate the water distribution systems

• Understand what is needed when it comes to the design criteria for such systems

• Understand the concepts of hydraulic design and definitions

• Clear any misconception regarding hydraulic transients

Who should attend ?

Municipal engineers, Civil Engineers, Water distribution managers, Safety Inspectors and procurement officers from municipalities, Consulting Engineers, Water department operation superintendents, Supervisors, Operations and Maintenance Managers, Process Controllers – Pumping, Technical services involved in the mapping, tracing, maintenance, rehabilitation and upgrading of water distribution systems
